WHAT DO I NEED IN ORDER TO VIEW/USE THE E-BOOK

The From Pixels to Palettes e-book comes as a PDF with embedded links, so any PDF reader that supports hyperlinks will work. On iPad I recommend GoodNotes, and on Android I’ve had good results with Xodo, however any PDF reader app should work as long as it will let you use hyperlinks, as that’s how you’ll navigate around the guide. This means, you could also use the e-book on your computer with something like Adobe Acrobat.

I DO NON-DIGITAL ART. CAN I STILL USE THIS E-BOOK?

Absolutely! The color palettes can still be used as a source of inspiration for any type of project. If you’re going to draw or paint, or even do a home decor or sewing project, you’ll just need to use the included link to convert the HEX colors to CMYK, etc. for printing or other uses. They won’t be exact, since digital/screen colors are more vivid and saturated, but they will be close, and the color balance/ relationships should still work if you convert them together.

WHY DOES EACH PALETTE ONLY HAVE 5 COLORS?

This is called a Limited Color Palette and it has many benefits in art and design. First, by limiting your colors, you ensure that the viewer’s eye isn’t distracted, creating a more focused and visually-appealing piece of art. In addition, since colors evoke different emotions, you can control the mood/feel of your artwork by limiting the colors you use. However, just because the included palettes are only 5 colors, it doesn't mean you can't sample additional colors from the inspiration image on the page. 😉

HOW CAN I GET THE COLOR PALETTES INTO MY APP?

This will vary a lot depending on the device and app you’re using. Some of this is covered in the included tutorial video, however the main ways to use the color palettes are to enter the HEX codes manually or use a screenshot of the palette and sample the colors in the app itself (Procreate, for example, let’s you sample from a photo or create an entire palette from it). You can contact our Support team with specific questions after purchase.

DOES THE E-BOOK COVER COLOR THEORY AND COLOR PSYCHOLOGY??

This book is a curated set of color palettes and is designed for you to use right away, without needing to understand color theory or psychology. However, having that extra knowledge is always helpful and will only improve your artwork.
